Ingredients
  

Base:

  • 1 cup 2 sticks / 225 g unsalted butter, softened

Fresh Herbs (finely chopped):

  • 2 Tbsp parsley
  • 2 Tbsp chives
  • 1 Tbsp dill
  • 1 Tbsp basil
  • 1 tsp thyme leaves

Flavor Additions:

  • 1 clove garlic minced (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon optional, for brightness
  • Extra chopped herbs for rolling

Instructions
 

  • Place the softened butter in a mixing bowl. Add the chopped herbs, garlic (if using), salt, pepper, and lemon zest.
  • Mash together with a fork or beat with a hand mixer until well combined and fluffy. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Spoon the mixture onto a sheet of parchment. Roll into a log and twist the ends to seal. Roll in extra chopped herbs for a beautiful finish if you like.
  • Chill in the refrigerator 30 minutes, until firm. Slice into rounds as needed.
