Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Fine strainer
  • Pitcher

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender buds
  • 4 black tea bags or 4 teaspoons loose black tea
  • 1/3 cup honey (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lavender sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Boil Water: In a medium pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  • Add Lavender: Once boiling, remove from heat and add the dried lavender buds. Let steep for about 5 minutes.
  • Add Tea: Add the black tea bags to the pot and steep for an additional 5 minutes, or until the tea reaches your desired strength.
  • Strain: Remove the tea bags and strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve to remove the lavender buds. Stir in honey while the tea is still warm, adjusting sweetness to taste.
  • Cool Down: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
  • Serve: Serve over ice in glasses, garnishing with fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices if desired.
