Chamomile-Basil Iced Tea with Citrus Zest

A soothing, caffeine-free iced tea steeped with gentle chamomile, fresh basil, and citrus zest. Floral, herbal, and lightly sweet — summer calm in a glass, made from the garden.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp loose dried chamomile or 3 chamomile tea bags
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves gently bruised
  • Zest of 1 small lemon or orange
  • 1-2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste
  • Ice for serving
  • Optional: fresh basil sprigs or citrus slices for garnish

Instructions
 

Brew the Base

  • Bring 4 cups water to a boil, then remove from heat.
  • Add the chamomile, basil leaves, and citrus zest. Cover and steep 10-15 minutes.
  • Strain into a pitcher. Stir in the honey or sweetener while warm.

Chill & Serve

  • Let cool slightly, then refrigerate 1-2 hours until cold.
  • Serve over ice with a fresh basil leaf or slice of citrus for garnish.
